Having had two rest days (allotted in the plan thank you very much, I'm not giving up that easily!) I was actually looking forward to getting back to some exercise today - no idea how that happened, I'm certain it's temporary...
Well the bright lights and fast sounds of the Ministry of Sound DVD are behind me and I've moved on to the more gentle (I thought) world of Davina McCall's home rowing machine. Now I, like everyone, love Davina and have complete faith in her. Though when faced with my 'home rowing kit', which slight resembles some pink elastic tied to a bike pedal, I was a little concerned. It just doesn't look high-tech enough to transform me into the Brazilian goddess I'm hoping for (I know it's not fair to blame Davina for my nationality, but still).
For the first few minutes I smugly watched TV, rowing back and forth sighing, ah Davina, this is just not going to cut it. I'm used to serious exercise now, this is too easy. That thought left my head when I glanced at the clock to realize that my workout, that I was sure was nearly over, had lasted less than fifteen minutes. I distracted myself with TV, trying to figure out why everyone loves Raymond, but it really hurt - my arms in particular were killing! The last few minutes were agony and I jumped up to give the new Zest workout playlist a try to see if some energetic music would help. Along to the energy-inducing sounds of 'You've got the Love' I kept going till the end, but was definitely glad to finish and promptly made myself some coffee as I felt all my energy for the day had been drained before I'd even left for work. Not so sure how I feel about Davina anymore...
Don't forget to come back on Thursday 20th for my next blog!
