Zest Drop a dress size Wednesday 2nd March

Had a great session with my PT Demi Siaperas on Monday, we've definitely taken it up a notch now and two days on I am still feeling that muscle burn.

With some real killer weight moves thrown into the usual supersetting mix, I was a bit wobbly during and afterwards. The worst move by far was the tricep extension cable machine using a rope, an interesting addition to our programme to make me look like a right wally, but my god do my triceps still ache today.  I must keep reminding myself that any gym humiliation is worth it, especially if I get rid of those bingo wings, and see results for Summer.

We are increasingly alternating between weights and interval cardio, which might appear manic on paper and to other gym bunnies who have the decorum and dignity to stick to their corners of the studio, avoiding exhibitionist behaviour of people like myself.  However time literally flies by - without even realizing it the hour was nearly up and shock-horror, we've even started to have a laugh together during it!

However, I am beginning to slack a bit on my nutrition plan - I realize that strictly omitting all carbs as I did to start with was not going to help me in the long run (and in my case didn't prove to be very successful in the weight loss and energy levels, as I had hoped for.) - If I am going to use this challenge as a spring board to rethink my habits, both on exercise and eating, I need to make sure it's realistic and maintainable in the coming months, not just for the duration of this challenge.

I really need to keep the momentum up and go for it this week.  Off to the gym this lunchtime to rehearse my mighty muscle cable training, and do my aimless pacing / lunging / swatting around others in the gym but I guess I will be the one left laughing in the end.

Erica: 'I've noticed some changes in the way my clothes fit! My belt is definitely on a tighter notch than before so seems like my hard work is starting to show results. What an inspiration to keep me pushing forward to the end.'

Lyndsey: 'Managed to wobble my way through the poses in a yoga class on Monday - only to be rewarded with a 10-minute meditation session at the end... I was so relaxed afterwards, I could barely walk!'
