Join Elle in her quest to drop a dress size in 4 weeks without going to the gym!
So January has reared it's ugly, overfed head once more, and yet again I am sitting here wondering how a month of eating nothing but sweets out of tins and Christmas cake has left me unable to get into even my 'fat' jeans (a mystery, no?). So when Zest challenged me to follow the drop a dress size without going to the gym plan I jumped at the chance to finally make an effort to put a dent in those resolutions - and waist measurements - for good.
Since moving to London, about 18 months ago, my lifestyle has gone from relatively active (playing netball, walking everywhere) to borderline comatose (the only place I walk these days is to the tube - and I live opposite the station). I'm hoping this challenge will jumpstart my energy levels which have dropped considerably over the past year, and I'm really hoping to get back into my size 10/12 jeans after using everything in the world (work, stress, winter, Christmas, weekends, weekdays...) as an excuse to eat and drink too much.
What most appealed to me about this challenge, was the strategic avoidance of the gym - something I am rather an expert at, if I do say so myself. Although I currently have a gym membership (they were offering free blenders), I can't seem to motivate myself to actually use it - except for the occasional sauna and steam to justify the monthly expense. As far as I'm concerned, if exercise was a tin of Quality Street, gyms would be the toffee pennies left at the bottom! And the mere fact that I need to translate exercise into confectionary currency should explain my need to sign up to this challenge in the first place...
So at 5ft 10 and a size 12/14, I'm going to give it my best shot!
You can download and follow the plan and the moves alongside me, too. I'd love to hear how you're getting on so please keep me posted with your experiences and comments, or start your own blog! Best of luck!
