A massive well done to the more than 400 Zesties who raced our fun adventure course on Saturday morning
Were you at the Zest Challenge 2012 today? If you were among the 400+ keen Zesties who turned up to take part in our 10k adventure trail, you'll already know what a great morning we had. And if you weren't, we've got a gallery of photos on the site too that will no doubt tempt you along next year.
We were again blessed with the most wonderful weather - bright and sunny with a refreshing breeze that helped us keep our cool while giving our all to the challenges along the way at the beautiful Hambleden Estate near Henley-on-Thames.
Highlights? The oh-so-refreshing and hilarious water slide: great fun, especially when some uber-enthusiastic racers accidentally knocked over safety marshalls posted at the bottom. Whoops!
Even memories of the killer hills at the start faded as we raced through the gorgeous scenery of rural Oxfordshire, rewarding plucky Zesties with nature-tastic sights of soaring red kites, pheasants and horses, with glimpses of vineyards to take our minds off the effort. So picturesque was the route that even wading through muddy bogs didn't phase our up-for-it competitors.
As well as the satisfaction of having completed the race in true Zestie style, all competitors went home with a fab goody bag and medal after also enjoying the delights of the Zest Village: a great spot for all our loyal families to hang out and roar their support as racers finally crossed the finish line.
