I'm trying to reclaim my pre-baby, flat stomach. First step: cut out wine and sugar. Arrgghh!

I’ve been desperate to be a yummy mummy rather than a tummy mummy for so long - I’m sure my husband is sick of me going on about it! I’ve got myself into such a downward spiral of poor eating and no exercise so I can’t wait to get stuck into my challenge. That hasn’t stopped me from having a ‘last supper’ though. Actually I’ve had several – a big Sunday roast, a couple of helpings of Pavlova, a cheese board or two, you name it, I’ve tucked in – because I know that once the challenge is in full swing I’ll be much stricter with myself.
Thankfully my trainer, Karolina Kaczor has written out a new diet for me to follow. Sugar is out (that’s tucking into the kids’ sweetie tin out of the window then) and so is wine (no more ‘Mums on the Run’ nights out either then) – it’s going to be a long eight weeks!
I expected to come out of my first training session dripping with sweat but I hardly sweated at all because we focused on weights. We did plenty of lunges, squats which I’ve never really done before – I woke up this morning aching in places I never knew I had muscles! The plan is we‘ll meet and do a session once a week, then I’ll do the same workout three times a week on my own.
She’s also given me a 20 minute routine to do at home which focuses more on my stomach – think planks, planks and more planks! It’s hard work, but I’m hoping I’ll start to see improvements quite quickly. Wish me luck!
