Halfway there!
Yay, I’ve lost 7lbs, which means at the halfway stage of the challenge I’m exactly halfway to reaching my goal of losing a stone. So I’m bang on target.
After struggling a bit for the first few weeks, I’m feeling a lot more on track with my diet now, too. My trainer, Paul, said the occasional blip is natural when you’re making such big changes to your eating habits, but reminds me to ignore cravings and really think about what my body needs, rather than what it thinks it needs. So now I’m getting used to eating my carbs for breakfast and having big healthy salads for lunch – I’m eating far better than I used to, that’s for sure.
I am facing a potential stumbling block though – my boyfriend is taking me to Paris this weekend. It’s our first trip away together, so I’m really excited. I just need to make sure I don’t ruin all my hard work with all those delicious pastries, cheeses and rich meals – let’s face it, the French aren’t shy when it comes to indulgent ingredients. But at the same time I don’t want to spoil all my boyfriend’s plans, so let’s hope that as well as lazy lunches, they include lots and lots of walking – wish me luck!
