The route we'll be taking with all the sights we'll see!
I’ve just signed up to take part in what looks like another amazing ride! Taking place over two days I’ll get to cycle 180 miles around London taking in a number of iconic landmarks and even cycle part of the Olympic route. After 100 miles in the first day I’ll be ready to relax at Windsor racecourse with a hot shower and dinner and then spending some time with a celebratory drink at one of the bars while taking in the live entertainment. Music, film screenings and talks from special guests will all be available to entertain all the riders before everyone settles down into their private tents for the night. 80 miles in day two will complete the route back around London, finishing with a ride across Tower Bridge. Although the route is long, it is fully supported and suitable for everyone with a little training. I can’t wait to take part!
Sights that we’ll see on the route:
- Ingrebourne Valley
- Epping Forest
- Lee Valley Park (Home of the Olympic White Water Rafting Centre)
- The Chilterns
- Eton Dorney (with the Olympic Rowing Course)
- Windsor Castle
- Runnymede (the historic village where the Magna Carta was signed)
- Ranmore Common
- Box Hill (part of the Olympic Road Race)
- North Downs
- Herne Hill Velodrome
- Tower Bridge
Riders can join for the full 180 mile lap of London which includes showers, dinner, evening entertainment, bed and breakfast (for £169). Riders who would like to cycle all 180 miles but prefer to head home to their own bed in the evening can enter (for £78). There is also the option of choosing to ride just one of the days (for £39).
