Week 3: Erica
Ok, If I'm honest, this week has been a total disaster! I've had two big nights out catching up with old friends (with the obligatory bottle of wine, dinner and dessert). And with the twinges in my knee at the beginning of the week I've had to take things a lot easier than I'd planned. Still not sure what I actually did, probably a combination of everything over the weekend leaving me in worse condition than I should have been. Actually, I've found one of the big downsides of using the DVD at home - not having anyone to ask about what I've done or how to alter my workout so as to avoid working areas that are causing pain. I'd have given anything to have been Katie or Lyndsey this week and be able to ask an instructor if there was anything I was doing wrong! Instead I decided it was best to rest it until it felt better so I've only managed three workouts this week rather than my usual four. I've also had to walk to work rather than cycle so when I got back to the DVD this morning it was even more of a challenge! Luckily the knee seems completely ok so that's a good sign!
It was a real surprise to me how quickly I could get out of the habit of exercising and lose my fitness levels after only a couple of days off. Going from Monday until Friday without a workout is a very long time in the world of exercise. And I suffered for it this morning! My co-ordination was back to being out the window and I don't remember being as out of breath as I was when I started! Definitely a good reason to keep with regular routines next week!
Lyndsey's update: 'Every part of my body aches - and because I've done so many classes, I don't even know which one is most to blame!'
Katie's update: 'My work outs are all completed for the week - I feel pretty good and I'm even starting to push myself on my own. Loving the supersets as well, concentrating on what I am going to do next means that time passes by without me realising I've been in there for nearly an hour.'
