Take the stress out of knowing which products to take on your honeymoon or next holiday with bride-to-be Taylor's top three picks
Finding the right beauty products to take on your honeymoon or next holiday isn’t easy – you need makeup that holds up in new weather conditions, body lotion that doesn’t attract foreign bugs, cleansers that won’t leak into your case and, most importantly of all, products that aren’t so heavy they take away from precious shoe space.
Now that I’m planning a destination wedding in California, finding the perfect beauty bits to take away with me has never been so important. Over the past few weeks I’ve been searching high and low for the right products (and even put a few through their paces during a recent trip to Thailand) so in this week’s bridal blog I’m going to share with you my top three picks for the best travel beauty essentials.
First up is skincare brand [comfort zone] which is already one of my favourites – all the products smell divine without being overpowering and work wonders on my sensitive skin. They’ve just launched a new Globe Trotter collection of 16 mini-sized bottles of their hero products including cleansers, serums, masks and body creams. They come in a handy plastic case that’s a cinch to pack and contains any potential spillage. Plus, they're small enough to take in your carry on - result. £4 each, or 4 for the price of 3, comfortzoneskincare.com
London based Elemis Spa is my go-to spot for much needed relaxation sessions when wedding stress boils over – the Face and Body Polish Treatment is not only relaxing, but leaves skin feeling silkier than wedding lingerie. More than a few of their products already have a firm spot in my at-home beauty regime, and I wouldn’t board the plane to sunny (aka wrinkle-inducing) California without a tube of Liquid Layer SPF 30 sun block. It’s so light and non-greasy it feels like a daytime face lotion, and the bottle is the perfect size for packing. £24.60, timetospa.co.uk
If you haven’t jumped on the BB cream bandwagon yet you’re missing a trick – short for blemish balm, it’s a powerhouse product you apply after moisturising but before makeup to reduce redness and inflammation, even out skin tone and fight blemishes. BB cream can be worn instead of foundation if you’re after a more natural look, but also acts like a primer to help set makeup. Beauty experts (and this beauty novice) agree Garnier’s is one the best. I plan to wear it on its own for the wedding rehearsal, and use it to prep my skin for a full face of makeup on W day. Double whammy. £9.99, stocked nationwide
