Romancing your lover may already be on the cards, but there's another reason to get cosy tonight. Conceiving this Valentine's Day could give you a once-in-a-century baby, with the unforgettable birthday, 11.11.11. 'An ovulating woman with a typical 28-day cycle who gets pregnant tonight may very well give birth on the distinctive date of 11 November 2011,' explains fertility expert Zita West. To increase your chances of conceiving, follow her three tips:
- Turn up the heat: More passion means more testosterone, which could improve the quality of sperm. Champagne and oysters it is, then.
- Do what feels right: There's no one position that's better for conceiving than any others, but having an orgasm can help the passage of sperm into the womb, so go for the one that feels best.
- Hold tight: Once you've finished, lie flat on your back for 15 minutes to allow nature to run its course. Contrary to what you may have seen in films, you don't need to put your legs in the air.
ZEST says: Forget cards and chocolate. If a baby's on the menu, we like the idea of one with a lucky birthday as a different kind of Valentine's gift! Although there are many other uncontrollable factors to consider - longer or shorter ovulation periods, and a pregnancy lasting more or less than 40 weeks for a start - it can't hurt to try. Enjoy!
