If you're bored of the gym or fancy a workout a little different than outdoor bootcamps and fitness classes, then a snow-based session at Manchester's Chill Factore may be just the thing to keep you interested.

Bootcamp on Snow offers a workout with a difference - that's more intense due to the sub-zero environment where it takes place.

The format of classes is similar to conventional interval training, where instructors keep your body working at different speeds to maximise effectiveness.

However, the -2.5 °C temperature and the nature of exercising on snow make for a more thorough workout in a number of ways. Higher intensity warm-ups prepare your body for exercise, and the classes aim to sustain this level throughout. Snow boots and the additional clothing worn mean you'll be working with more than just your body weight too.

Crucially, the resistance provided by the snow means the workout is tougher than doing the same routine on solid ground, as it forces the lower body through a higher range of movement - perfect for toning legs and glutes. Chill factore claim you'll be easily able to burn 600 calories in a single one hour session.

Packages can be tailored to individual workout needs to get your body beach-ready for the summer.

A one hour Bootcamp class costs £8 (the introductory price), and Chill factore are offering 5 sessions for £40 when you quote 'BOOTCOURSE' at chillfactore.com.
