More than 100 girls squealed in delight when tennis ace Williams dropped in for a special tennis themed NTC
Even a tennis superstar has to work on her fitness, so when former Wimbledon champion and all-round fabulous sports role model Serena Williams rocked up to a special tennis-inspired Nike Training Club (NTC) Schools session, the girls were keen to know how she stays in shape.
The best way to keep those famous legs toned? 'Squats, and lots of running,' Serena said.
There's nothing like working out alongside a true global sports superstar to inspire your fitness training. And for girls at the #FUELSERENA event, the surprise arrival of tennis ace Williams was the perfect reason to push just that little bit harder.
The NTC Schools event took place at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) HQ in Roehampton, a stone's throw from the All England courts where Serena and her sister Venus Williams will be on court this week.

Girls who had completed the most NTC workouts at their schools were invited to take part in the unique tennis-inspired session - but had no idea that a very special guest star would be dropping in. Zest was among a small number of lucky journalists who were also invited to take part.
Two hours of cardio work, tennis coaching and tennis-workouts later, all led by Nike and LTA specialists, it was time to snatch a few words with Serena.
So what's she looking forward to at the Olympics?
'Well, every girl loves the gymnastics. And there's the athletics,' Serena admitted. 'And we all like looking at the swimmers, don't we?'
NTC Schools aims to encourage girls to view sport in a new and fun way, and help address the drop-off in sports participation amongst young adults in the UK, particularly girls.
#FUELSERENA has been created to motivate Serena’s fans to be more active and celebrate their sporting successes, whilst also inspiring Serena through her Wimbledon campaign.
Girls taking part in the NTC Schools event trained in groups with a Nike+ FuelBand to earn as much NikeFuel as possible. All the NikeFuel that they earned was 'given' to Serena to inspire her to #makeitcount at Wimbledon 2012. To help #FUELSERENA and join in with the NikeFuel movement go to www.nike.com/makeitcount
