Nairns gluten free easy porridge

Gluten-intolerant porridge-lovers rejoice! Nairns has launched a 'free from' instant porridge pot. We've tried it - and it tastes good.

Not only is it a convenient quick breakfast option, it fluffs up beautifully and is a super-hearty way to start the day, containing all the natural goodness and health benefits of oats.

Breakfast at your desk ideas

Breakfast is often the most difficult meal for coeliacs or those on a gluten-free diet.

These porridge pots are made with pure, wholegrain gluten-free oats which are reliably sourced and farmed by a family of coeliacs. All of Nairn’s gluten-free products are made in a separate bakery and are accredited by Coeliac UK.

Martyn Gray, Marketing Director at Nairn’s Oatcakes says, 'The porridge pots are packed full of complex carbohydrates and are a good source of soluble and insoluble fibre, giving you a natural and wholesome boost to help you get the most out of your day.'

Nutritionist and ambassador for Nairn’s, Christine Bailey says, 'Starting the day with foods that provide slow release, natural energy, like oats, will sustain energy and blood sugar levels throughout the day and discourage the temptation to opt for unhealthy snacks. Porridge is an ideal food to keep you satisfied until lunchtime. In addition, oats are packed with a whole range of nutrients including antioxidants to support your health.”

Nairn’s Gluten Free Easy Porridge is available in Tesco and Waitrose at £1.50 per pot.

Tesco are now doing their own version too, along with a great, small company called Perk!er, who specialise in gluten free.

You should really do a wider review that covers more of the free from market to capture Coeliacs across the country.

Going gluten free has also turned into a 'Fad' for many as it's endorsed by celebrities who don't have Coeliac, and this poses issues for those who have been diagnosed as people & caterers then don't take them seriously. I would love to see a national magazine like Zest tackle this head on with a detailed article!
