Are you hard enough for the Tough Mudder?

Mud, electric shocks and fire were among the obstacles faced by racers on the Cheshire Tough Mudder adventure race. Check out the video here

Posted: 20 November 2012

Tough Mudder, the team endurance sensation that has swept the world, wrapped up its 2012 UK programme at the Cholmondeley Estate, Cheshire, at the weekend.

The final UK event of the year saw 8,000 participants brave electric shocks, fire and mud tunnels as they completed the 12-mile, 25-obstacle SAS-designed course.

More of a 'challenge' than a race, Tough Mudder puts the emphasis on camaraderie over finishing times as competitors work in teams to help their fellow 'Mudders' complete the course.

Originating in Pennsylvania, USA in 2010, Tough Mudder has been a huge hit, with 35 events across the globe in 2012.

The Cheshire event was the third in Britain this year, following the debut UK Tough Mudder in Kettering in May and Tough Mudder Scotland in July. Tough Mudder originated in the US in 20120, with 35 events held across the globe this year.

Amongst the participants were 10 competition winners who won the chance to take part, and more than 50 local employees who formed 'Team Dyno-Rod', the event’s official sponsor.

Check out the web video for the inside story on this year's Tough Mudder Cheshire. It might even whet your appetite to sign up for next year's race.
