Low-calorie breakfast ideas

Try one of these weight loss breakfast ideas for a healthy eating start to the day that comes in at max 250 calories and 6g fat

Brilliant beans
Watch the cals: breakfast beans on toast

Brilliant beans

5tbsp low-sugar, low-salt baked beans in tomato sauce, plus 1 slice wholemeal bread with 2tsp light spread; 1 peach.


Speedy Porridge

1 serving of Quaker Oat So Simple instant porridge (original flavour), with a little extra milk on top, plus 1 nectarine and 1dsp of pumpkin seeds.


Tempting toast

1 slice of wholewheat toast or dark rye bread topped with 1tbsp peanut butter, plus 1 individual tub of Mullerlight yogurt and half a pink grapefruit.


Fruity muesli

4tbsp muesli, 100ml skimmed milk and 1 chopped apple.


Simple smoothie

250ml skimmed milk (blended with 1 small peeled banana, 2 tsp honey, 2 handfuls of raspberries and 1tsp wheatgerm). Chill before serving.  


Strawberry crunch

Medium bowl of sliced strawberries with 3tbsp reduced-fat Greek yogurt, 1tsp caster sugar and 2tbsp muesli.


Fruit salad cereal

Medium bowl of special K Red Berries with 1 sliced banana and 5 pieces of chopped apricot, plus skimmed milk.


Classic eggs

1 boiled or poached egg, 1 slice of wholemeal toast, 2tsp light spread; 125ml orange or red grape juice.


On the go...

Moma! Apple & Cinnamon Hodgepodge pot and 1 large banana or Moma! Wild Berry Oatie Breakfast.


Healthy brekkie

Marks & Spencer Swiss-style Apple & Raisin Muesli pot and 1 banana.
