The beautiful house and grounds themselves are a big draw but it's the bootcamps, guest instructors and power walks, plus cholesterol screening and healthy meals that keep its guests coming back. The overall feel might be more of a health spa but there's also a huge range of pampering treatments, and the nutritious food is inspiring enough to help you keep up the healthy eating back at home.
Special treatment: The Elemis Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap (Cellutox), £85 for 85 minutes, includes a seaweed body mask to detoxify the body and smooth cellulite.
Our verdict: Champneys Henlow might be health- and fitness-focused but its more country-house cosy than formal health farm. We loved our dance class too; though we were there to work hard, it still felt like fun.
