Herb House Spa, Lime Wood Hotel, New Forest
This spa epitomises luxury. The only five-star luxury hotel in the New Forest, it's simply beautiful (think roll-top baths, cosy lounges for pre-dinner drinking and a courtyard with retractable roof), so you would expect its Herb House Spa to follow suit. And it does. For starters, there are the forest views from the huge sauna, the private treatment room for two, complete with steam room and garden and an indoor pool that opens out onto a glorious decked sun terrace. And the rooftop herb garden, where you can sit, drink or partake in some yoga is inspired. You won't want to go home.
Special treatment: The Bamford Signature Treatment, £125 for 120 minutes, rejuvenates both body and mind with a soothing foot bath, body exfoliation and full body massage.
Our verdict: Wow. The architecture, contemporary interior design, forest views from the sauna and the food way exceeded all of our expectations. And then some...
