Professional snowboarder and competitor, Kate Foster started snowboarding aged 13 copying her older brother. Canadian-born Kate has been competing since 2007 and came 2nd in the British Snowboard Championship in March 2012. We caught up with her between rides to find out a bit more about her and her sport.

What do you love about snowboarding?

‘Wow, so many things.  I love the little things, like when it’s a lovely fresh day and you have the squeak from the snow when you’re walking out.  You can never get sick of the scenery in the mountains, no matter how many times you go to one place, it never looks the same. I love every bit of snowboarding. I love the speed of it, the fun of it. I love riding with friends and learning new tricks, you can learn so much every day.’
