Raw cacao is a rich source of magnesium (which may help to control your mood swings) and antioxidant flavonols and polyphenols, as well as containing significant amounts of calcium, iron and potassium. Raw cacao also contains a mild non-addictive stimulant that some believe may treat depression.

That's all the excuse you need to tuck into these little beauties...

Ingredients:

2 heaped tbsp raw cacao powder

2 tbsp cashews, soaked two hours

1 tbsp agave nectar (or you can use honey)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tbsp cacao butter, melted in a bowl over hot water

1tbsp coconut oil, melted in a bowl over hot water

Method:

Blend everything except for the cacao butter and coconut oil until smooth. Gradually add in the melted cacao butter and blend it just until everything is properly combined.

Pour the mixture into a bowl and place in the fridge until it becomes slightly firm, which will take about 30 minutes. Then form the mixture into balls of about 2 teaspoons each and roll in cacao nibs.
