Our pledge to #Keepthemomentum

Inspired by the success of our phenomenal Team GB women, Zest will be championing females in sport way beyond London 2012. Read our pledge here.

Victoria Pendleton keirin London 2012
Victoria Pendleton wins gold in the women's keirin at London 2012

This summer female athletes took centre stage and won the hearts of the world with their stand-out performances. We’re determined to keep that passion, pride and enthusiasm for women’s sport alive well beyond summer.

OUR PLEDGE

WE WILL champion the cause for better sponsorship and media coverage.  Olympics aside, only 5% of media coverage is dedicated to female athletes and 0.5% of sponsorship in the UK went to elite women’s sports between 2010 and 2011.

WE WILL continue to support female athletes, giving them high-profile coverage in Zest magazine and online well beyond the summer of 2012.

WE WILL encourage all women to get into sport, to increase their fitness and to try new activities and will provide the support, motivation and encouragement to make that happen, both online and in the magazine.

I have just ran the Lausanne (Switzerland) 10km. It was my first ever race and I loved every second! It was zero degrees, snowing and cold! After nearly pulling out last night I picked up November Zest and was browsing your running section. It got me thinking and inspired me to get out there today and I did! I ran it in 55min and I am sooo happy with that result! Training at altitude rocks by the way! #keepthemomentum ;)
