Ready to race for charity?

If you've supported a friend who's racing for charity you may have heard of JustGiving, the UK's largest online fundraising platform, but how do you set up an account and does all the cash go to the right cause?

How does it work?

You can set up a page for your chosen event for free. You can add all the info you want, including pictures and videos, plus Twitter and Facebook links. There's also the option of allowing people to text you donations.

How do people donate?

Your friends and family can simply click on the link to your page and make a donation. JustGiving processes the donations, handles the admin of GiftAid (which adds 25% to the donation) and transfers the total on a weekly basis to your chosen charity.

What does it cost?

JustGiving takes 2-5% of every donation, so at least 95% of the money you have raised will go to your chosen charity. All of the fees charged by JustGiving are reinvested into making the site better for the people who use it.
