Team GB cyclist Laura Trott is currently training for the Team Pursuit and Omnium at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Laura is currently World and European Team Pursuit and Omnium Champion.

She says, 'This is my first Olympics so I’m incredibly excited. We’ve already competed at the new Olympic Velodrome and can’t wait to do it again in front of a home crowd.'

With some digital magic, London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games, transported Laura to a virtual version of the Olympic Velodrome to recreate the moment when Sir Chris Hoy won his third gold on the track in Beijing.

Laura says, 'Chris Hoy’s incredible performance in Beijing was so inspirational for me. Seeing him winning three Olympic gold medals was amazing and made me realise that’s exactly where I wanted to be in four years time. It was great fun trying to recreate Chris’ golden moment. I can only imagine how he must have felt at that time. I will be doing my best to have my own Olympic gold moment in just a few weeks’ time!'

Runner Nell McAndrew was also invited along to recreate another Olympic golden moment: the eye-popping celebration by Dame Kelly Holmes when she crossed the line to win her 800m gold in Athens.

How Nell McAndrew fuels her running

After seeing herself in the virtual Olympic Stadium in London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games, Nell McAndrew said: 'It was great fun trying to capture that magic moment when Dame Kelly Holmes crossed the line to win her second gold medal. Having felt the sheer joy of completing a marathon, I can only imagine how she was feeling.  It is one of the most iconic Olympic moments of all time and my personal favourite.'

Nell added, 'It’s fantastic to get a sense of what it’s going to be like for our athletes come 27th July.  Let’s hope they can make some more magic moments!'
