Why grapefruit is great

Celebrity Masterchef winner Lisa Faulkner says, 'Add a little Florida sunshine to your day with these delicious recipes.'

Not only is grapefruit tasty and refreshing, it is also fat-free - and half a Florida grapefruit contains just 60 calories.

Other health benefits of Florida grapefruit: it is cholesterol-free; it is high in fibre to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, assist with digestion, and may help reduce your risk of colorectal cancer; it's loaded with vitamin C - half a grapefruit or an 8oz glass of grapefruit juice provides at least 100% of your daily vitamin C intake.

Additionally, pink and red grapefruit contain beta-carotene, a carotenoid that serves as a source of vitamin A in the diet. Vitamin A is important for reproduction and growth, immune function, and helping maintain healthy vision.
