We all know that a bunch of flowers can put a smile on anyone’s face, but did you realize it’s been scientifically proven?
Yes, petals have the power to enhance your wellbeing and boost your mood. Fact! But how many times does someone give you a beautiful bouquet only for you to transfer them to a vase where they look decidedly, well, underwhelming?
“Petals have the power to enhance your well- being and boost your mood. Fact!”
Luckily, Zest, in association with Onken yogurt, has teamed up with internationally-renowed London florist McQueens, which supplies flowers to a number of designer fashion houses, hotels and A-list events, to give 25 readers the chance to harness the happiness benefits of flowers with a day learning how to arrange flowers beautifully.
As well as perfecting your petal presentation, life coach Nina Grunfeld will be on hand to explain why happiness and wellbeing is so important. What’s more, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, glass of bubbly, and, along with an exclusive goodie bag worth £40 (including a McQ candle pictured), get to take your work of art home with you, too. Spaces are limited, so get your ticket today!
Flower power!
A US study into the emotional impact of flowers revealed they do more than just look pretty in a vase on the coffee table:
1. flowers have an immediate positive effect on happiness. Participants in the study displayed genuine excitement, delight and gratitude upon receiving a bunch of flowers.
2. flowers have a long-term positive effect on mood. Less depressed, anxious or agitated, and a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction after receiving flowers.
3. the presence of flowers lead to increased contact with friends and family.
