1. Perfect your posture
Even the most washboard stomach will suffer if you have slouchy posture. Next time you're wearing that unforgiving body-con dress, lower your tailbone and lift the front of your pelvis, and your belly will become instantly flatter.
2. Don't focus on weight
We all have a weight we think of as our ideal. If you find it near impossible to achieve yours, then it's time to re-think. Ditch the scales and instead measure your progress with a pair of jeans you know you look and feel good in.
3. Eat well
Too much wheat, alchol or processed food will have a direct correlation to the shape of your stomach. Eat a varied, healthy diet, and do plenty of cardio exercise to get your digestive system moving and minimise the muffin top.
4. Breathe, and relax!
Ever get an achey back, shoulders or neck when you do stomach exercises? Then you're tensing your outer stomach muscles and throwing your body off balance. It also prevents your inner core from working, leaving it weak. The key is to relax. Take some slow, deep breaths and gently connect your mind with your inner core. Imagining these muscles working can really help if you're struggling to engage them.
