You know you have had a good workout when you feel pain in parts of your body, that you didn't even know could hurt. That was my first thought after walking out of a one-hour Frame Method class at Frame Studio in London's trendy Shoreditch.
The small and intimate workout incorporates elements from ballet, weights and Pilates, providing participants with an exhilarating and diverse training session.
Personal trainer Keziah had us using weights and traditional equipment from all three disciplines including the Pilates ball, yoga strap and ballet barre alongside Frame's own specially created cushion.
The cushion is used to support the lower spine so you can work deeper into the lower abs, which are the ones that flatten your tummy.
What makes the Frame workout different is that it targets every muscle group individually, using simple isometric exercises for working both the lower and upper body.
By building lean muscle mass, the speed of your metabolism is increased, resulting in more calories being burned throughout the day.
Exercises including push ups, shoulder raises, hip and leg extensions, chest presses and squats are all aimed at raising your heart rate and increasing strength. Be warned though, the moves might look effortless and low-impact but you will be pleasantly surprised at just how quickly exhaustion sets in.
Anyone looking to tone up and improve their flexibility should give it a go and with no trainers or gym kit required, it is perfect for those busy bees who are always on the go.
