I have lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks, pretty good, but I want a bit more. I want to tone up while I m shedding the pounds. Monday I will start 30 day shred and I challenge anyone who would like to join me. I will let know how I get on. Can't wait !

30 day shred is a workout DVD by Jillian Michaels from Biggest Loser USA. Jillian is know for her tough training and good results. The workouts consists of 3 levels, doing each level for 10 days excluding rest days. It is circuit training, 3 min of strenght traing, 2 min cardio and 1 min abs, each level is about 20min. Jillian reckons this is designed to banish fat.

Day 1 and 2 Level 1
I m not a complete beginner BUT it was hard, only 5 sec rest is allowed, I took advantage of that. I did modified version as I did not want to kill over on the first day.
Day 2 I was more enthusiastic and no modified version this time. Now, I know what to expect I can push myself. Felt a bit sore during the day I guess it's working.

Well this is nice if you have lost 3 pounds in a week,If you want to lose more i guess you should make a proper diet plan so you can maintain the weight you have lost,i mean you don't get that back.

Do exercise on regular basis that will keep you fit and you will achieve your goal,Avoid junk food and fast food prefer having fruits and vegetables.

Day 3 to 5
My legs are achy, especially when walking up the stairs. I think I am improving a bit with cardio even though I don't like some of the moves. Now I m halfway level 1, the doubts I had when I started are gone, I feel motivated. I now think 'I CAN DO IT. YES I CAN !'

Hi Lazy Lily, how are you getting on with the 30 day shred? I started yesterday, woke up today aching everywhere so I guess I should warm up better! I can't wait to start seeing results!

Hello Nicky19, it's so fabulous to hear from someone who is doing it too. I wouldnt worry about warm up J's is enough, you'll be ok in a few days. I have 2 more days to go then level 1 is done. I am finding listening to Jillian a bit boring after 8 days. Today, I did put the telly on and just listen to her queue to change to the next exercise, that helped. Haven't noticed any results yet, just taking 1 day at time at the moment. Do keep me posted on your progress.

Hi 30 Day Shred challengers, Laura from Zest here. Wow! I'm really impressed. I've done Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 DVD and it's hardcore. I know what you mean about listening to the same thing each time - esp as Jillian can be quite scary. Great idea working out to your own music now you're used to level one and know how to get the tecnique right. Keep up the good work and let us know results. Jillian is my go-to girl for a speedy, hardcore workout when I want a blast of confidence.

Lazy Lily, yes, I'm glad I've found someone doing it too, can't wait to hear of your progress. I had to have yesterday off, my muscles hurt so much, back at it today though! Once I become more familiar with the moves I will probably listen to my ipod to keep me motivated.

Well done for getting to day 8 and good luck with level 2. Yes I will do!

Hi Laura, what sort of results did you see after the 30 days? I understand it's only 20 minutes a day but all my muscles were aching the next day so I'm quite happy that I'm working my body alot in those 20 minutes!

Level 2 OMG, challenging to say the least, Jillian says if you want a 20 min workout that deliveres you have to earn it. The only way for my fellow challengers and I is to dig deep, we wouldn't call it a challenge if it was easy.

Now on day 8 of level 1. I'm really enjoying the cardio parts of the workout, I'm sure it will step up in intensity for level 2 so I'm looking forward to it!

Haven't been doing that great with my diet at the moment so I'm not seeing much difference, but I've now got my fridge stocked up with healthy foods so I'm looking forward to seeing changes more quickly!

Yeah! Level 2 DONE. This level was hardcore, some of the moves are from level 1 kicked up a notch. There is a lot of planks which left my arms feeling like jelly. its burn after burn, I was screaming at Jillian especially on the chair squats with v-fly. I did not find Jillian was annoying this time.

Hey everyone, just finished level 3 day of level 3. I m loving it guys, it's hard but enjoyable. I ve up my weights, now using 2kg, I m all fired up. 7 days to go, I m now looking into what I can do next. I ll definitely do one of Jillian's workouts. I would like to hear from someone who has done killer buns and thighs and 6 pack in 6 weeks.

oh wow this all sounds so good! am going to get my dvd in 2 days! can't wait to start shredding! I used to be all athletic and fit. I used to Jog and then started Rushfit workout - it was my thing but I felt my body all soft and fatty... you know like you can feel layers of fatting on you adding on   I eat fine if not too healthy and it just killed the enthusiasm. I left workout but my weight had creeped up and even my mommy noticed me being bubbly . So after around 2 months of crying on it, I read about your challenge and felt inspired. Thanks man

This sounds great, i have been looking for an at home work out to keep me motivated as i work shifts and away a lot I need a routine i can do in hotel rooms and crazy hours. Whats happens after the 30 days though is there another DVD that's as good?

When it comes to @ home workouts there is alot to choose from these days. Its just a matter of finding what you like and what you want to achieve. And you can always find out from others who have done it before you buy or commit .
Saturday is the last day of the shred for me, Jillian's killer buns & thighs is next on my list. Maybe I ll mix it up with her 6 pack in 6 weeks.
