Ever wondered how supermodels Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elle Macpherson achieve their long, lean physiques? It's all down to Bodyism, the London-based gym founded by James Duigan (author of 'Clean & Lean') that focuses on honing athletic bodies with a combination of personal training and nutritional protocols.
Find out more about how Bodyism works right here - plus get our 15-minute Bodyism moves: http://www.zest.co.uk/at-home/the-bodyism-workout/6599.html
So if you're dying to know how to elongate your legs à la Rosie, then this week's web chat with Bodyism PT Tegan Haining will help!
Tegan will be sharing her advice on how to tone up, with particular emphasis on getting the lower body into shape. Tegan, who worked as a model before becoming a personal trainer, integrates yoga, Pilates and Crossfit techniques into her exercise regime, and is also a Fascial Stretch Therapist (a particular type of flexibility and strength training favoured by the NFL and Olympic athletes).
Join us from 1-2pm on Wednesday 28th of August or post your questions for Tegan here in advance!
Do you ever feel unmotivated and if so how do you combat this?!
Another Q: I am doing C&L workouts and spinning Both three times per week. Pretty pleased with fitness but my thighs and bottom are very bulky any suggestions for getting long and lean thighs? Loving being clean and lean anJann just about to try a few of the supplements. Many thanks in advance
My legs have long been my problem area, and for the past 2 months or so I have been trying to target them, but no matter how many squats or lunges i do but the fat in this area just wont move! Is there a routine or foods that can you suggest to tone this area? Thanks!
How important is it to use a body brush? What does it actually do and how often should you use it? Finally - can you recommend a good one?!
How much yoga and Pilates do you practice and do you feel practising yoga and Pilates contributes to your body shape?
Hi Everyone, Great to see questions ready to go! Let's get started!
HI Sophiet88, change up your routine, have fun with your fitness, try rock-climbing, take a kickboxing class or plan an adventure weekend away!
Hi Georgie, try reducing the spinning to once per week and try a strong yoga class like ashtanga instead. Large bottom's often come from a build up of toxins so reduce your exposure to chemicals from beauty products and non-organic foods.
How much fitness can you 'lose' over the course of say, a week, if you stop your normal exercise routine (ie. if you're on holiday)? Does it take you back to square 1 again? What is an easy exercise to do on holiday to keep things ticking along?!
HI Ems3, Our skin is our biggest organ and body brushing helps to clean it of toxic build up. This helps cleanse your system, practice daily before you shower and you can find good ones at most health food stores.
Hi Emiy Bea, I like to practice yoga three times per week and Pilates once or twice. They both help to tighten and lengthen your muscles for a fit, athletic physique!
HI Ems3, Your body can actually benefit from a break from training, people often lose weight on holiday! Take the Bodyism band with you, its great for keeping your butt in shape away from the gym
Thanks Tegan! Another one from me - how much cardio do you recommend a week when trying to lose fat? I have upped my weights/strength work and try to focus mostly on this but now worried I'm not doing enough cardio!
Hi Sophie, try to incorporate some intervals into your strength routine to keep your heart rate elevated and a further two separate training sessions a week to aid fat loss.
Best way to get rid of toxins from the body
Hi Nashreen! Drink plenty of water and green tea! Our bodies are 90% water so keeping hydrated is key to cleaning out your body!
I love Halloumi cheese. Is this something that should be avoided while trying to lose weight or can I enjoy this as part of a salad twice a month or so?
Hi Catriona, if you have an intolerance to dairy I would suggest avoiding but if you feel ok then you can make it a small part of your weekly cheat meal.
Another food based question. Organic maple syrup... bad sugar or fine to have a little drizzled over my Bodyism Pancakes?
Lastly, best moves for shifting excess weight on outer thighs and hips?
