If you're interested in the science of skincare, you may have a bathroom cabinet full of serums, gels, oils and creams. And they don't usually come cheap, so you want to make sure you are maxxing out those products.
But which to use when?
Take some advice from the co-founder and CEO of highly respected Aromatherapy Associates Geraldine Howard.
Geraldine says, 'Layering with a body serum, followed by oil and then a cream can make a great difference to the appearance of the skin.
'Look out for rose and neroli essential oils, and evening primrose oil and shea butter to deeply nourish and leave skin with an all-over healthy glow.
'Begin by using a serum to hydrate and replenish lost moisture, then layer an oil to nourish, and finally a body cream to seal-in the goodness and protect the skin.'
Try: Aromatherapy Associates Renew Rose Massage & Body Oil (100ml, £36), an easily absorbed body oil that is particularly recommended for swimmers, sunbathers and those whose skin is exposed to the elements.
For maximum effect, layer Renew Rose Hydrating Body Gel (200ml, £27.50) on top of the body oil to seal-in the goodness and protect the skin.
