Mastered the wood chop workout? take it a step further with these advanced moves to work your whole body. Aim for 15 reps per side for a body-blasting workout.

Weight with high knee

  • Perform the wood chop, but hold a weight, such as a medicine ball, in both hands. As you stand, raise your right knee in front.
  • Return your foot to the floor as you squat.

  • Perform the standard wood chop, holding a weight in both hands, but remain upright throughout to work your core and shoulders.

  • This time, when you stand, take the weight over your head, then take it down to outside the opposite foot. Do 15 on each side.

Single arm extend

  • Start in the squat position with a dumbbell in your right hand.
  • As you stand, dynamically pull the weight across your body high above your head.
