The muffin-top tightener

These back extensions will work your hard-to-reach lower back as well as strengthening your core.


  • Lie face down with the ball underneath your stomach and hips, your upper body relaxed. Steady yourself by placing your feet against the base of the wall.
  • Place your hands by your temples and, lifting from your lower back, slowly raise your upper torso up off the ball.
  • Pause at the top and lower slowly.
  • Aim for 15 reps.

'Try to incorporate the Swiss ball into every workout, as it will target your core with every exercise,' says Jon. 'For under £10 you'll be making a real difference to your posture and the strength of your lower back as well as toning up all over.'

 Have looked at several exercise & work out DVD's and they look really good, huge respect for people with this committment, I am still looking at different programs to get stuck into with hubby, no decision yet but fingers crossed. A big thank you for all the tips I have found so far.
