Want to stay in shape like a Zest model? Lauren McAvoy offers her top tips
How do you stay fit?
I do regular fitness classes, such as Zumba dance classes, yoga and my favourite - spinning.
Why is staying fit important to you?
It helps keep my energy up for such long days - high spirits and a clear head are a must!
Do you prefer training indoors or outdoors and why?
I like both for different reasons. When I am indoors I feel more focused and solitary, but I love the fresh air and smell of grass outdoors: there's nothing like a run with grass beneath your feet.
Are you a winter sports fan? If so, are you a skier or boarder?
I haven't tried winter sports as yet although I would love to give snowboarding a try.
How do you get yourself motivated to work out?
I usually listen to a playlist on the trusty my3 player to get me in the mood. Being in the pipeline for a nice modelling job also motivates me to look my best and keep in shape.
Have you ever signed up for a big sporting event (a 10k, half marathon, triathlon etc)? If so, which one and how was it?
About 4 years ago I used to do long-distance running for Essex County. I also represented Essex County in gymnastics. The London Marathon is something I definitely want to do - Great Ormond Street Hospital is a charity very dear to me and I want to run it for them.
What's your favourite part of your body and how do you keep it that way?
My stomach! I focus a lot on abdominal exercises and I'm proud of my 6 pack. I laugh a lot, too, which helps to get those muscles tensed.
If you only have 30-minutes to work out, what exercise would you do?
Definitely a brisk walk, with the occasional three-minute burst of running. I'm lucky enough to live in a very leafy area and love to take my dogs for regular walks.
What are your top 3 healthy eating tips?
1. Eat little but often
2. Drink lots of water
3. Eat 6 a day instead of 5 - AIM HIGH!
If you could have been an Olympic athlete, which sport would you like to get your gold medal for?
Gymnastics - such a beautiful sport and Britain has such a long- standing history of producing excellent gymnasts.
