Dr Pixie gives advice on beating headaches for good
A: It may be the painkillers that are causing your headaches. It's not uncommon for people who take them regularly to get 'analgesia headaches' as the painkiller withdraws from their system. So, you need to try to ditch the pills, then take a look at other possible causes. Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration is a big headache inducer. Other culprits are hunger, artifi cial light, poor posture and stress. So eat regularly, move your work position so you have plenty of natural light and adjust your chair to provide good support. You could try acupuncture or craniosacral massage, which help to realign the spine and skull - they might be your long-term solution to stress and tension headaches. It's a good idea to keep a headache diary to identify what might be causing them and when they're at their worst. Then, if they continue, visit your GP and take it with you.
