A. It could be a lump in your thyroid gland putting pressure on the area - you might become a bit hoarse or notice your neck looks thicker as a result. Thyroid problems are more common in women than men and can run in families. See your GP and mention any weight loss, lack of energy or other symptoms as well as any famly history of thyroid problems. Neck swelling may bee due to an enlarged gland or a cyst.
