If you like to stay active on your holiday, try taking an out-of-season break to the Balearics.

Walking and hiking are increasingly popular in Majorca, and with an average temperature of 13degC in the winter, it's the perfect to place to pull on your boots and step out.

The local government has developed a network of purpose-built hiking trails to encourage visitors to discover Majorca’s natural beauty, and staying off the tourist trail means peace, quiet and stunning scenery.

The Tramuntana Mountain range dominates the north of the island and has recently been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status. This region offers 1,000-metre peaks, natural gorges and pleasant rural villages where as a hiker you can experience the real Majorca.

Good work, Amanda. Stick with the spinning: it's seriously addictive and such a great calorie burner. You're so gonna shift that last stone!
