Machu Picchu in Peru
 2 of 4

Walk 28 miles to Machu Picchu

Climb through cloud forest and subtropical jungle, navigate stone staircases and death-defying narrow passes as you make your way along the famous Inca Trail to the 'lost city' of Machu Picchu in Peru.

Thousands of people walk the trail every year, but it's no Sunday afternoon stroll. At 28 miles, it is long and often steep but if you're reasonably fit you should be able to complete the route. You'll feel a real sense of achievement when you reach the Sun Gate and see the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu below.

Before you go: training will make it so much more enjoyable
